Make a nomination for the People's Choice Award 2025!

Velindre University NHS Trust will once again host its Employee Excellence Awards later this year.

We’re calling on you to help us shine a spotlight on success by nominating our staff for the People’s Choice Award.

Whether you’re a donor, patient, family member or member of the public, we’d love you to come forward and nominate a person you believe provided excellent care or service.

Staff from the Welsh Blood Service, Velindre Cancer Service and the Trust’s Corporate Services can be nominated for this award. This includes all clinical staff, non-clinical staff and students.

Last year’s award winner was Siân Hampton, a healthcare support worker at the Velindre Cancer Service who supports with peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) lines.

After winning the award in 2024, Siân said:

“I just feel overwhelmed and really proud. Going to Velindre every day, I don’t like to call it work. I love what I do and the staff are wonderful.

“Every day I’m inspired by the patients and by the team I work in, so this award means everything to me.”

The award winner will not just share learning within our organisation, but they can also inspire innovation across NHS Wales. By making a nomination, you can play a part in helping to improve standards in health services and say thank you to those who really deserve it.

Deadline: Tuesday 26 August 2025

The judging panel will comprise of a wide range of staff including subject matter leads, Executive Directors, and Trade Union colleagues. We will announce the winner when the award ceremony takes place in late October 2025.
