A new strategic plan that will support Velindre University NHS Trust to deliver excellent care, inspirational learning and healthier people has been launched today.
The results of INTERLACE trial mark the biggest cervical cancer drug advance in 20 years.
This dynamic duo was recognised for their outstanding contribution to their local community of Treherbert through their unique initiative Veggies for Velindre which has also raised over £2,000 for the Velindre Charity.
A total of 16 awards were presented to individuals, teams and projects from across Velindre University NHS Trust at its returning Employee Excellence Awards 2023.
Michele was described as an “exceptional” lady who works all hours to care for her patients and their relatives, whilst another nominator said, “I really don't know how Velindre would cope without her.”
This has led to 10,000 fewer outpatient clinic appointments since its inception, creating capacity in the Outpatients Department for more complex patients, new patients and patients receiving scan results.
PATHOS, a Velindre University NHS Trust and Cardiff University co-sponsored clinical trial, is a Phase III, international trial aiming to develop a kinder treatment for patients with head and neck cancer.
