World Cancer Day 2025

This year's theme, ‘United by Unique’, emphasises the significance of holistic, personalised cancer care that extends beyond clinical treatment. 

It highlights the vital role of emotional support, mental well-being, and tailored resources in addressing the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that care is as compassionate as it is comprehensive.

We spoke with a range of departments across Velindre, from occupational therapy to the psychology service, to explore the diverse ways they support patients beyond typical cancer treatment. From helping patients regain independence to offering emotional resilience tools, their stories reveal the dedication and compassion at the heart of holistic cancer care.
