On 15 January, members of the Velindre University NHS Trust Board attended a Welsh Government Public Accountability Meeting to discuss the Trust’s performance.
This was one in a series of meetings held with all NHS organisations across Wales, and it was a valuable opportunity for us, as a Trust, to account for our work openly and transparently.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide assurance on key aspects of our work - from cancer services and the Welsh Blood Service, to the development of our new cancer centre and our wider organisational leadership and governance. We were asked to showcase not just what’s going well, but also how we’re responding where further improvements are needed.
It provided an opportunity to report on progress made so far this year, how we are tackling challenges and our plans for the future.
Please take the time to watch the meeting. It gives a clear picture of where we are as a Trust, the confidence we have in our plans, and the challenges and opportunities ahead.
