After six years, Dr Eve Gallop-Evans will step down from her role as Velindre Cancer Centre Clinical Director at the end of December.
Eve has supported her colleagues through significant changes, including navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic, dealing with the increasing complexity of treatments, the need to manage all aspects of the non-surgical cancer pathway and keeping patients safe across the region.
She has undertaken the role with great knowledge, compassion and sense, while also frequently providing direct support for clinical teams in clinics and by covering multiple on-call shifts, all in addition to her own clinical and research expertise and examining roles with the Royal College of Radiologists.
She is widely respected and hugely appreciated by all of those who work with her from the wide range of professional groups that make the Cancer Centre work so well.
Rachel Hennessy, Acting Director of Cancer Services, says “Eve has been fantastic support both personally to myself in the role as Interim Director but also as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
“She is always smiling and brings energy and enthusiasm to everything she does. From myself and Senior Leadership Team, we wish her all the best in her new adventures.”
Eve will continue in her role as a Consultant at the Cancer Centre and a new Medical Director will be recruited for in due course.
