Celebrating the first anniversary of South East Wales Cancer of Unknown Primary/Malignancy of Unknown Origin (CUP/MUO) service which went live in November 2022, nothing could have been more fitting than showcasing positive clinical outcomes at the national UKONS Conference this November.
Ceri Davies, our dynamic CUP Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) presented two posters, demonstrating how collaborative working across Acute Oncology teams in Health Boards/tertiary cancer centres and multi-disciplinary CUP teams' input has improved not only early diagnosis, but also early access to oncology/palliative specialist teams and enhanced patient experience in this group.
Dr Sonali Dasgupta, Consultant Oncologist at Velindre Cancer Centre, said:
"On behalf of the Velindre University NHS Trust CUP Team, I would like to thank tumour site-specific teams and Local Health Boards in South East Wales for their continuous support, referrals and goodwill. We would also like to thank our wonderful patients for their positive feedback on this service."
Ceri (below) collaborated on two poster which she presented at the annual UKONS Conference in Newport last month.
