Kate Hannam, Divisional Director of Velindre Cancer Service, said: “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our staff, and demonstrates our commitment to delivering safe, effective and innovative care across south-east Wales.
“By working collaboratively with our partners and embracing new approaches, we are improving experiences and outcomes for our patients at some of the most challenging times in their lives.”
These projects reflect Velindre’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and patient-centred care. From enabling people with life-limiting conditions to receive vital tests at home, to improving safety for patients receiving immunotherapy, our teams are making a real difference at some of the most challenging times in people’s lives.
The awards ceremony in Cardiff was not only a celebration but also an opportunity to share learning across NHS Wales. Our teams proudly showcased their work through poster sessions and lightning talks, helping to spread great ideas that can scale across the system.
