Celebrating Success at the Medical Engagement Conference

Velindre University NHS Trust hosted this year's Medical Engagement Conference at Sophia Gardens.

This highly anticipated event brought together healthcare professionals, educators, and senior healthcare leaders to showcase the outstanding work and innovative practices across the organisation. 

This year's theme, ‘Celebrating Our Success – Past, Present & Future’, provided an opportunity to reflect on the outstanding standards we have achieved while also looking ahead to the continued transformation of our services in Wales and beyond.

The conference provided a platform to celebrate the achievements of medical staff and foster collaboration between VCS and WBS. The agenda was built around 4 key sessions: 

• Research & Development (Chair: Prof. Rob Jones)

• Developing our Future Workforce (Chair: Dr Indu Thakur)

• Innovations and Improvements (Dr Richard Webster)

• Our Leadership Profile (Dr Mick Button)

The event also featured a networking lunch and exhibition spaces showcasing Trust departments and sponsors. 

Attendees also had the opportunity to hear two compelling keynote speeches from Professor Phil Kloer, Chief Executive of Hywel Dda University Health Board, and Professor Rich Withnall, Chief Executive of the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management. Their insights shed light on the landscape of medical leadership in both Wales and across the UK.
