Velindre University NHS Trust is inviting artists from across Wales and beyond to attend an Artist Engagement Day.
The event will introduce upcoming opportunities to work with Velindre, including public art and creative projects connected to the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), which is currently under construction and scheduled to open Spring 2027.
An ambitious arts strategy forms a key part of the development and will help shape the patient, visitor and staff experience at the new centre.
Representatives from the Trust’s procurement team will also be available to explain how to navigate commissioning and tendering processes, with members of the nVCC project team on hand to discuss the vision behind the programme.
Trust Sustainability Manager Rhiannon Freshney said: “This is an exciting opportunity for artists to help shape the vision and learn more about our wide range of upcoming and current creative projects. We’re also excited to share more details about our extensive arts strategy behind the new Velindre Cancer Centre that will provide a healing environment that reduces stress, promotes dignity and supports the wellbeing of our patients and staff.”
The day will also provide time for discussion, questions and networking with artists.
The engagement day takes place on Wednesday December 10 from 10am to 2pm at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff.
Attendance is free and open to all artists, designers, makers, and creative organisations with an interest in healthcare, wellbeing, and public art.
