Velindre staff announced as finalists at the NHS Wales Awards 2024

Velindre staff are celebrating after being shortlisted at this year’s NHS Wales Awards.

The NHS Wales Awards celebrate excellence in improvement and quality across health and care in Wales, showcasing the incredible quality and safety improvement work that has transformed the experience and outcomes for people in Wales. The categories are aligned with Duty of Quality and Health and Care Quality Standards 2023.

We've been shortlisted in the NHS Wales Safe Care Award for improving the documentation of mobility status for patients with metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC): a quality improvement project in a UK regional cancer centre.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Cardiff, on Thursday 24 October 2024. After receiving an overwhelming number of inspiring entries this year, the judging panel formed of experts drawn from across NHS Wales, the public sector and professional bodies have found it incredibly difficult to shortlist the 36 finalists. The next stage will see judges take part in virtual visits with each finalist to find out more about their improvement projects.
