We issued a statement on 28 November regarding the departure of David Donegan from the organisation. The Trust has been clear that it will not comment on individual employment matters.
Over the last few days there has been further media coverage regarding NWSSP, one of the national bodies hosted by the Trust. Questions were also raised during Senedd plenary earlier this week on the same issues.
Given the seriousness of these allegations, the Trust feels it very important to be clear on this matter – it has not seen nor received any evidence to suggest criminality.
Today, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care published a written statement on these issues which we would like to draw to your attention.
The Trust looks forward to working with our colleagues in NWSSP, Local Health Boards and the Welsh Government to implement the final recommendations of the governance review to further strengthen the governance and accountability arrangements.
The most important focus for the Trust is ensuring we continue to provide high quality care to the people we serve. We recognise that such allegations can cause distress and concern among our staff, patients, donors and the wider public. We wanted to assure everyone that our focus remains, as always, on providing excellent care.
