We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Anne Carey as the Trust’s permanent Chief Operating Officer.
Anne has been our Interim Chief Operating Officer since July 2024 and during that time has worked tirelessly with Velindre Cancer Service and Welsh Blood Service to support the delivery of those services.
Following a highly competitive recruitment process which drew a robust field for this role, Anne was selected for our permanent position.
She was previously the Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital in Surrey, and held the same role at Princess Alexandra Hospital for over three years.
Professionally trained as a Biomedical Scientist in Haematology & Blood Transfusion, Anne has also led a national birth cohort study within the Academic Health Sciences Centre at University College London, worked for five years at the Royal Marsden and led on the development of the Evelina Children’s Hospital as its General Manager.
Anne says: "I am incredibly pleased to have been appointed to the permanent role. It will be a great privilege to continue to lead the Velindre teams and I look forward to the impact we can have together on behalf of our donors, patients, carers, and colleagues."
We look forward to now working with Anne in her permanent position in the Trust.
