The Value Based Health Care team has provided an update on the Digital PROMS (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) system - also referred to as Digital Health Assessments - that is in the process of being implemented within Velindre.
The Trust has procured a digital PROMs system from Promptly Health. Promptly Health provides the solution for all Health Boards in Wales that are collecting PROMS digitally.
This means that our patients will have a consistent experience across their cancer pathway and that we as an implementation team are able to collaborate and learn from each other.
The procured system is an enterprise license for a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. Work is underway to enable the integration of responses into the Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP), so that PROMS automatically form part of the patient's medical record.
This system will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality, safety, and efficiency of care provided to patients and donors, aligning with the VBHC vision of delivering exceptional services through data-driven decision-making.
In brief, the system enables clinicians to send specific groups of patients, structured questionnaires at specific intervals along a patient's clinical journey with us.
The PROM questionnaires being sent are validated tools, agreed and collected nationally to understand the quality of life and symptom burden of our patients.
These capabilities are essential for achieving the VBHC vision of providing the best outcomes with the resources that we have.
