Commissioning completed for Ethos Linacs at Velindre @ Nevill Hall

The Velindre Radiotherapy Physics team have completed the commissioning of the specialist radiotherapy CT simulator and Hypersight Cone Beam CT (CBCT) systems at the brand new Velindre @ Nevill Hall Radiotherapy Unit.

The Hypersight CBCT is a state-of-the-art patient imaging system installed on both of the Ethos linear accelerators at the unit, pictured below with a few members of the wider team whose collective efforts helped bring this milestone to life.

This exciting development is a key part of our commitment to delivering cutting-edge treatment for patients across South East Wales. We would like to express our gratitude to the whole team involved for their hard work in this commissioning process.

Over the next few weeks, our teams will continue preparing the unit to welcome our first patients in early June.
