Finding The Literature

Velindre library provides access to the key medical databases, Medline, Embase and PsycInfo via the OVID platform for Velindre University NHS Trust staff, including the Welsh Blood Service and Health Technology Wales. Please follow the links below to gain access.

If you are accessing from outside the Velindre network you will need to login via OpenAthens, select the OpenAthens/Institution link underneath the login box.

You can use your NHS Wales email and (Nadex) password for OpenAthens access.
Please see the OpenAthens instructions for further details.

If you are unsure what the three databases cover the information below provides a brief outline and in addition you can download the OVID Quick Reference Card for a guide to using the OVID interface. Also see our training page for some useful videos on literature searching.
