Velindre library provides access to the key medical databases, Medline, Embase and PsycInfo via the OVID platform for Velindre University NHS Trust staff, including the Welsh Blood Service and Health Technology Wales. Please follow the links below to gain access.
If you are accessing from outside the Velindre network you will need to login via OpenAthens, select the OpenAthens/Institution link underneath the login box.
You can use your NHS Wales email and (Nadex) password for OpenAthens access.

MEDLINE is the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) bibliographic database that contains more than 26 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. MEDLINE records are indexed using NLM Medical Subject Headings (MESH).
EMBASE (Excerpta Medica Database) is a biomedical and pharmacological database produced by Elsevier B.V., It has strong coverage in drug and pharmaceutical research, pharmacology and toxicology. Embase records are indexed using Elsevier's Life Science thesaurus, Emtree.
APA PsycInfo is produced by the American Psychological Association and provides abstracts and citations to the scholarly literature in psychological, social, behavioral, and health sciences.

Using Google Scholar
We know that many people use Google Scholar when looking for things quickly. If you are using Google Scholar to locate material then this video may be useful as it provides a brief introduction on how to use it to find the full text of articles provided by NHS Wales.
