If you are affected by cancer you may well already be aware how expensive a diagnosis can be. You or a family member may have extra costs such as travel expenses going back and forth to hospital. You may have special dietary requirements, additional heating expenses due to effects of treatment. In addition you may have reduced income. This can cause worry about how you may cope with the financial effects of cancer and paying day to day bills.
A visit to our benefits advisors could help. Our advisor has been able to assist many patients in accessing benefits which might otherwise have gone unclaimed. If you would like to be referred, please speak with your nurse/consultant. In addition, there are many organisations that can provide advice and support regarding benefits and financial matters. Benefit rules can be complicated so it is important to get specialist individual advice.
