In the last few months we’ve been talking to a range of people who use our services now, or who might do in the future.
Dr Tom Crosby, clinical lead for the Programme, met up with younger cancer patients from the new SHINE charity recently. SHINE holds very informal meetings for the 18 to 45 age group. Most of the Cardiff members continue to work through their cancer treatment, so we held an after work session.
It was really interesting to get their take on the services we need to provide for the future. Lucy Burgess (image above – front, far right) had chemotherapy and radiotherapy with us. Her plea was for earlier and later radiotherapy sessions to avoid needing too much time off in the working day.
