The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic taught us the value of maintaining our emotional resilience. We’re more resilient and able to cope with stress when we:

  • Feel connected to other people.
  • Look after our physical health, eating and exercise as well as we can.
  • Understand and manage our mind and thinking, rather than ruminating and overthinking which can often make problems seem worse.
  • Take time off problem solving to enjoy ourselves with activities that lift our mood.

Many of the steps above can be completely free and we should all remember to prioritise them, whether we currently feel stress or not.
