Carers . . .

• Look after someone – relative, friend, neighbour – who is ill, frail or disabled and cannot manage on their own.
• Are unpaid and save the NHS in Wales over £7 billion every year.
• Carers can live in the same house as the person they care for while others live nearby and visit regularly.
• Care can be provided for limited periods of time or can be a regular part of life.
• Some provide care for more than one person.
