Art workshops
  • The Art Cart – Weekly creative session for patients on the First Floor Ward, led by an experienced arts in health practitioner. Delivered at the bedside, patients are encouraged to take part in simple mindful activities.
  • Art courses at Maggie's – These therapeutic eight-week art courses are open to anyone affected by cancer. Participants will be given the opportunities to experience different art forms and test different techniques in the calm and supportive environment of the Maggie's Centre on site.

Community exhibitions

Regular changing community exhibitions which shine a light on the creative talent of staff, patients and the Velindre community. The exhibition space is located in corridor between the Outpatients and Radiotherapy departments.

Monthly cancer support group

Anadlu is a monthly cancer support group which meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at St Fagans, National Museum of History. The sessions include a mindful walk of the site or a closer look at an object in the collection, followed by a creative activity.

Creative writing sessions

Group writing sessions, delivered in partnership with Clinical Psychology, which guide patients through a series of writing techniques which helping to process their experiences and connect with their creativity.
