Velindre University NHS Trust is the sponsor of a number of internationally renowned research projects.

As Sponsor, Velindre University NHS Trust leads on:

• developing the protocols
• applying for funding
• managing the risk
• monitoring the participating sites
• producing insightful publications. 

We work closely with all participating organisations including universities, charities, NHS organisations and the life sciences Industry to ensure that our sponsored research is of the highest ethical and scientific value.

Currently Velindre is the sponsor of approximately 20 diverse studies, all of varying size and complexity. The largest of these studies opened internationally in 2020 to provide revolutionary head and neck treatment to an even larger cohort of patients.
