Research helps to improve public health and patient care-enhancing knowledge, as well as advancing treatments in the NHS and making a difference to people’s lives.

The Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) team in Velindre University NHS Trust supports the development of high quality research projects within the Trust and ensures it is conducted and managed to a high scientific and ethical standard.

Velindre University NHS Trust is recognised internationally for its broad, often complex and highly specialised services, state of the art technology, highly skilled clinical and non-clinical staff and ground-breaking, innovative research.

Velindre currently hosts and sponsors a balanced mix of commercial and non-commercial studies across a diverse range of research area. Our portfolio includes blood donor care, transfusion and transplantation medicine, cancer clinical trials, palliative and supportive care, and health care research studies.
