Mr Phil Roberts was appointed as the Independent Member (Estates and Planning) for Velindre NHS Trust, for 3 years with effect from 1^st March 2012. 

Mr Roberts has a wealth of experience in Estates and Planning from both Wales and England. He is currently Chief Executive and Director of Warm Wales – Cymru Gynnes, working in the area of sustainable energy and design. For 6 years he represented the Secretary of State for Wales on the UK Government’s Building Regulation Advisory Committee and has supervised design projects on major public buildings in London, including Buckingham Palace and the Imperial War Museum. Closer to home he has held several executive and advisory posts including Design Partnership Wales, the Design Commission for Wales, social housing organizations and is Chairman of Wood Knowledge Wales, sponsored by The Forestry Commission promoting the use of timber in construction.

 Phil is a member of the Audit Committee, Research & Development Committee, IG & IM&T Committee and the Charitable Funds Committee.
