You can connect with us directly in British Sign Language (BSL) from anywhere through Convo, our deaf-led remote interpreting service. If you use BSL, you can call us through the Convo Now app on iOS, Android, or a web browser.
Simply find us in the Community Directory. From the moment you connect, the interpreter is there, ready to reach the right person and support the conversation throughout.
First-time users will be asked to register once. This keeps your account secure and allows us to return your call if needed using your unique code.
To be able to receive callbacks from us, please provide us with your unique number, which is on the homepage of Convo Now. This unique code will allow us to give you a call back. See our Knowledge Base for support in receiving call backs: https://info.convo.io/uk/help/how-to-receive-calls
Access Convo via app or browser: ttps://uk.convo.io/UserWebApp
After registering you can make a call to the Cancer Centre for free by selecting Velindre Cancer Centre from the SignLive Directory.
Connecting with an Interpreter: The person (you) are connected to a BSL Interpreter who then contacts Velindre Cancer Centre by phone.
Communication: The switchboard receptionist will receive a call from the SignLive Interpreter and connect the call to the correct person. The interpreter will relay the conversation between yourself and the staff member.
About the Service: Velindre Cancer Centre can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week but for example administrative services are only available Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm. The Treatment Helpline that provides immediate advice and support to those receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (including Immunotherapies) can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The various ‘opening and contact’ hours can be found on the website here.
