Velindre Voices is a way for staff, patients, carers and the general public to engage with the Velindre Cancer Service, share ideas for improvement, and find out more about our research, projects, fundraising, volunteering opportunities and more.
People can get involved by completing a form on our website. You will be asked about what areas you are interested in, such as fundraising, green social prescribing, the new Velindre Cancer Centre or our arts programme, and a couple of other questions about your connection to the cancer centre.
As a member of Velindre Voices you will be invited to online and in-person events so you can contribute your views on projects, pieces of work or anything else that matters to you or your loved ones.
Visit our website to find out more, or email Velindre.EngagementHub@wales.nhs.uk
Velindre is recognised as The Hospital of Hope, and this is made possible because of the fantastic and committed support of our donors and fundraisers.
Your fundraising efforts and donations help us continue to be the leading provider of radiotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments in Wales. It allows us to fund projects which improve the experience and outcomes of patients receiving care and support here.
With your support, we are able to offer better quality of care through complex treatment pathways, earlier access to cutting edge treatments, research into new treatments, purchase specialist equipment, fund invaluable support services and resources along with ensuring our staff have access to the most up to date training and techniques available.
Visit the Velindre Cancer Centre Fundraising website to find out what you can do to support us.
The Wales Cancer Biobank collects and stores biological samples such as tissue, blood and urine, along with patient data and makes them available to researchers to learn more about how cancer starts, develops and reacts to treatment.
Patients are at the heart of cancer biobanking and the Wales Cancer Biobank relies on your generosity to support ongoing and future cancer research.
