Cardiff Chronic Pain Management                             Programme

Welcome to the Cardiff Chronic Pain Management Programme page.

The Chronic Pain Management Programme Service began in 1994 and is based within Velindre University NHS Trust. 

The service covers Cardiff and Vale and Cwm Taf University Health Boards.  Both areas have interventional pain clinics that refer into the Pain Management Programme service. 

The Team is based at Velindre Hospital and the programme is run in a community setting or via video conferencing software virtually by our experienced team of clinicians.

Pain Management Programmes have developed to help people who live with persistent pain.  Persistent/Chronic Pain is pain that lasts longer than three months.  It is a complex condition and for many people medical interventions have not provided the relief they hoped for.
