Innovation Award Scheme: Driving Creativity and Transforming Healthcare

The Innovation Award Scheme is a dedicated initiative providing £100,000 in annual ring-fenced funding to promote and support innovation within
our healthcare system. Reviewed yearly, this scheme is designed to inspire creativity, enable innovative practices, and tackle critical challenges
faced by healthcare staff and patients. By fostering a culture of innovation, the scheme contributes to improved patient care, staff satisfaction, and
community well-being.

The funding supports a range of activities, from small-scale innovation and pilot projects to feasibility studies that lay the groundwork for larger,
externally funded initiatives. These efforts not only test new ideas but also generate valuable insights that can enhance the chances of securing
substantive funding from sources like UKRI or government grants.

The scheme operates through two main funding calls each year, facilitated by the Innovation Office, with additional ad hoc submissions
considered on a discretionary basis. A structured application and management process ensures transparency and effectiveness. Support is
provided to shortlisted projects, and feedback is offered to unsuccessful applicants, helping to build a strong pipeline of future opportunities.
Funded projects must report on their progress, with all initiatives aiming to complete within 12 months. Capturing insights and lessons learned
from these projects will help drive further innovation and scalability.

Stakeholder and donor contributions play a vital role in creating this endowment for innovation. These resources are dedicated to transforming
healthcare delivery by prioritizing patient and staff needs, fostering an innovative culture, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI and
