We have 2 inpatient wards. These are:
Our CIU and First Floor Wards care for patients with a range of symptoms that include patients undergoing active therapies, such as radiotherapy.
We also have 2 specialist isotope cubicles. The cubicles are used for patients receiving radio-active treatments.
A total of 47 beds are spread across the centre, all have access to cubicle facilities, a day room for patients and accommodation on two wards for relatives who may need to stay with very ill patients. All beds have access to free bedside televisions. Our patient information centre also has a computer with internet access that can be used by patients during their stay (currently unavailable due to COVID-19).
All wards have access to dedicated single sex bathing and toilet facilities. Cubicles have en-suite facilities.
A dedicated family room is available that can be booked by families so they can have private time with children, grandchildren and other family members.
All wards operate a protected mealtime system whereby visiting from relatives, friends or non-nursing healthcare professionals are discouraged from attending the ward. This system allows patients a quiet and undisturbed time in which to eat their meals without non-essential interruptions.
We realise appetites may change whilst patients are in hospital. Our catering and nursing staff have a comprehensive list of beverages and snacks. These are freely available upon request from a member of staff outside of the set mealtimes.
Visiting times for all wards are from 2-5pm and 6-8pm Please note that during the COVID pandemic we are only allowing visitors by prior arrangement with the ward manager or nurse in charge. If patients are very unwell or visitors are travelling significant distances, please let the ward staff know as we can ensure there is some flexibility in visiting times for these instances.
We also have a dedicated multi-faith room. This is situated between the Active Support Unit and our day unit. Anyone may spend a little quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital. A range of items from various faiths is available.
