Upcoming tower crane removal on new Velindre Cancer Centre site

We wanted to let you know that one of the cranes at the new Velindre Cancer Centre site is scheduled for removal.

Permission has been granted to remove the crane outside of normal working hours for health and safety.

A Section 61 Notice has been issued to dismantle tower crane four on the site over a weekend, allowing the team to carry out the work in a fully controlled environment separate from the daily workforce.

The approved works will take place on:

Saturday June 6 2026 between 13:00 and 18:00

Sunday June 7 2026 between 09:30 and 18:00

No works will begin before 9.30am on Sunday, and no works will continue beyond 6pm on either day.

A Section 61 consent is issued by the local authority to allow specific construction activities outside of standard working hours while ensuring appropriate noise management and monitoring.

We appreciate this work may be more noticeable than typical site works and thank residents in advance for their patience and understanding while this important stage of construction is completed.
