Additional support

During reiki, the therapist gently places their hands on or over clothes and bedding to channel universal life force energy and subtly activate the body’s natural healing processes to restore balance and harmony. People generally report feelings of peace and enjoy a quiet space in their mind. Reiki works just as well when the therapist and person receiving it are not together in the same room, this is known as distance reiki.

Aromatherapy uses natural plant extracts in the form of essential oils, which each have a unique scent and effect on the mind and body. The benefits range from being uplifting to sleep inducing, they can even help with headaches, anxiety and nausea. Our qualified aromatherapists combine the essential oils creating a blend especially for you, that safely fits in with cancer treatments. The team provide these in an aromastick, which is a small nasal inhaler that fits in the pocket so you can enjoy the treatment at home. The treatment may also be given as a massage, usually on the hands, feet or back.

Massage works by carefully pressing the muscles and soft tissues of the body. This helps to increase circulation and loosens areas that are tight or have tension. Massage can encourage great physical relaxation and relieve discomfort. Touch can also help to soothe nerves and aid overactive minds. Our qualified therapists usually provide hand, feet or back massage and can easily adapt treatments, so you have the best experience. The team are able to coach your important people with our simple techniques, so you can have massages exactly when you want them.

Reflexology is a therapy that uses gentle pressure on the hands and feet. These areas are called reflexes and connect to systems and organs of the body. Softly pressing the reflex points helps to clear the energy pathways and bring better balance to health and wellbeing. Our qualified reflexologists are skilled to help you manage during anxious times and improve your overall mood. We can even show you how to do it on yourself or someone else, so the benefits last longer.

Sound Therapy

Sound therapy uses music, sound and the voice to release tension and express emotions. Music can be a very personal choice and have profound effects, allowing joy and laughter to be remembered. Instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks and chimes create pure sounds and assist busy minds and stressed bodies to find a more restful state. Our qualified sound therapist will help you explore your most effective audio tools so you can use them as distraction and lighten your thoughts. Using your own voice or simply humming also has great positive results and you can use it anywhere.
