Simon Waters is a Medical Oncologist specialising in breast cancer. Following Medical Oncology training and a lab-based PhD in Yorkshire, Dr Waters joined Velindre Cancer Centre in 2011 developing a special interest in the systemic management of advanced breast cancer. He is also a core member of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Breast MDT. Research interests include early and late-phase evaluation of new treatments for breast cancer, and he is an active Principal Investigator in multicentre international clinical trials. He has a strong focus on patient safety and is the Medical Lead for Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy for Velindre, and the Wales representative on the Cancer Research UK SACT consent form National Steering Group.
