Sustainable transport and green travel

The Trust has a proactive approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our Staff Travel Plan 2022-2027 is delivered in adherence to:

• Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act (2015)
• Active Travel Act (2015)
• Environment Wales Act (2016)
• Clean Air Plan for Wales (2020)
• NHS Wales Decarbonisation Strategic Delivery Plan (2021)

Staff, patient & visitor travel are responsible for nearly 20% of NHS Wales' carbon dioxide emissions. We're determined to do our bit to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

To achieve this, we actively encourage staff to make use of the Cycle2Work Scheme. We also host Active Travel Days across the Trust and enable staff to travel sustainability with secure cycle storage and access to the Next Bikes sharing scheme.
