Chief Executive - Velindre University NHS Trust

After graduating in Business Administration at Bath University, Steve trained as an accountant with Grant Thornton before becoming a Senior Manager at Ernst and Young.  He subsequently joined the NHS in 1993 with Gwent Health Authority and eventually became the Interim Director of Finance in 2002 before becoming the Director of Finance at Newport Local Health Board. Steve has been with Velindre University NHS Trust since 2009 as the Director of Finance and is now the Chief Executive.  

Steve Chairs the National End of Life Care Board working closely with the representatives of the Health Service, third sector and patient representatives.

He has previously been a Trustee for a Charity and Vice Chair of a School Governors group.
