For 70 years, we've supported people through some of life's most challenging moments. We've helped drive innovation in cancer care and in-turn been shaped by generations of staff, volunteers, supporters and patients.
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we're reflecting on the people, stories and achievements that have shaped Velindre over the past 70 years. We're also looking ahead to an exciting future, including the move to the new Velindre Cancer Centre.

Your story is our history
The story of Velindre isn't just told through buildings, treatments or milestones. It's told through the people who have passed through our doors.
Whether you've worked at Velindre, volunteered, been a patient, supported a loved one, raised funds, or simply have a connection to the service, we'd love to hear from you.

Arts in Health exhibition
We've partnered with our Arts in Health programme to create a special exhibition celebrating the history of Velindre Cancer Service.
Drawing on photographs, stories and historical content, the exhibition will explore how Velindre has evolved over the years and the impact it has had on patients, families and staff across Wales.
The exhibition will start in September 2026 and remain on display within Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff until the move to the new Velindre Cancer Centre.
Funded by Velindre Cancer Charity, our passionate Arts in Health programme helps create opportunities that enhance the experience and wellbeing of patients, families and staff.
