Chair

Sara joined the Trust in September 2025. Her professional background lies in communications, engagement, policy and leadership. Sara was Communications Director for Welsh Government and headed the profession in Wales setting up and Chairing Comms Cymru, having previously held similar directorships for a large London NHS trust and a Regional Development Agency.

Latterly, Sara has worked as a charity leader, including Director of Mind Cymru (where she still volunteers) and CEO of Moondance Cancer Initiative. For the past eight years, Sara has served as an Independent Member for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board deepening her knowledge of NHS Wales and also has experience as a Tribunal Chair for the Health and Care Professions Council.

A fluent Welsh speaker and Cardiff resident, Sara grew up in Aberystwyth and moved back to Wales to raise her two children, who are now young adults. She has first-hand experience of local and specialist services as a carer, valuing the immense contribution and care she has witnessed as well as being driven to make experiences of and access to care better and fairer.
