Volunteering

Velindre Volunteers

Thank you for expressing an interest in Volunteering for Velindre University NHS Trust. We have a range of volunteering opportunities at Velindre Cancer Centre inviting you to provide vital support for our patients, staff and visitors.

Finding the right role for you

For corporate volunteering opportunities for your business or team, please email Velindre.Volunteers@wales.nhs.uk to discuss available opportunities.

Our aspirations are to create a range of youth volunteering (U16) opportunities in the future. In the meantime, if you are a young person looking to volunteer, we recommend you contacting Velindre.Volunteers@wales.nhs.uk as we may be able to accommodate you in the meantime.

Before applying, take a look at our current volunteering opportunities here.

Things to know before completing your application form

  1. The form should take 20-30 minutes to complete so please make sure you have this time available before starting.
  2. All volunteers must be 16+ to apply.
  3. All volunteer roles will need to complete an occupational health check and a mandatory training day prior to starting their volunteering experience with us.
  4. For selected roles (all core roles and some seasonal roles), applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) prior to starting their volunteering experience with us.
  5. Velindre University NHS Trust will process all checks on your behalf and will provide successful applicants with the relevant information and next steps. You do not need to pay for any checks yourself.
  6. For those who require additional support in completing the application, we encourage you to email velindre.engagementhub@wales.nhs.uk. Our team will work with you to identify an alternative method of applying or, provide additional support over the phone or in person.
