We all know someone with cancer or someone who has had cancer and the number of people diagnosed with cancer is increasing. Wales however has some of the lowest cancer survival rates in the western world and the 60 year-old Velindre Cancer Centre does not have the facilities or space to meet this future challenge. We want to replace it with a new one. The new Velindre Cancer Centre will treat more patients and help more people live longer with cancer. It will be an NHS service, treating people according to need, free at the point of delivery. It will also support international research and development aiming to make Wales a world leader in cancer treatment. If the new cancer centre is to work for future generations, then our staff, patients and neighbours should be involved in its design, construction and operation.
We want people to say that their views do count and do make a difference. In this way, we can all be involved in treating more patients and in helping people to live longer with cancer. If you want to be involved please sign up for news and updates.
