Clinical Psychology and Counselling Service

At Velindre, the Clinical Psychology and Counselling Service assesses and helps people to manage the psychological and emotional difficulties which arise as a result of cancer. The service can signpost to a huge range of support services to help you.

We know there can be a psychological impact of living with cancer can be heightened by the rising cost of living, and we’re here to help you. Learn about our team and the service they provide.

We offer talking therapy to people living with the impact of cancer to help them feel more able to cope with their difficult situation and feelings. We also teach a range of strategies to help people cope with how they are feeling individually or in groups with others who may feel the same.

If you feel you could benefit from talking with someone or learning to manage your worries and anxieties, please ask your clinicians, such as your nurse or doctor, to refer you to our team. You can also ask your GP who can refer you to someone locally.
